Crandon & Forest County
Crandon is the county seat of Forest County, in the heart of Wisconsin's Northwoods: a four-season region of lakes, rivers and national forest.
Lakes
Crandon sits on the shore of Lake Metonga, and the surrounding area is dotted with lakes large and small, from popular recreational lakes to quiet, undeveloped shorelines. Nearby Oneida County adds chains like the Moen Lake Chain near Rhinelander.
Rivers
The Peshtigo, Wolf and Pine rivers and their tributaries wind through the region, offering trout water, paddling and private river frontage that is hard to find elsewhere.
Public Land & Hunting
Much of Forest County lies within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, giving landowners nearby access to large tracts of public land for hunting, hiking and exploring.
